What size Portable Gas Generator should I purchase to take care of only refrigerator, t.v. maybe a fan or so..
You need to check on the total consumption for the items you intend to connect. Bigger and older refrigerators have higher consumptions, same goes for TV sets. Every appliance has a placard indicating average consumption in Watts or amps. You could probably figure 2000 watts for a small fridge (actual consumption will probably be around 500-600 watts, but you need to allow for motor start-up) and an additional 500 watts for the TV and fan. My recommendation is to buy as big as you can afford so that you will not overload your generator so I would suggest at least 3000 watts output.
